This course will develop your knowledge and understanding relevant to working with the elderly.
Units may include:
- common health issues affecting individuals in elderly care
- communication in elderly care
- individual rights in elderly care
- maintaining health and wellbeing in elderly care
- minimising risk in elderly care
- principles of elderly care in the UK.
Students are expected to have at least a Level 1 qualification in English, which will be assessed before starting this course.
This qualification is online only so you can study at your own pace, in your own workspace. This qualification includes 115 guided learning hours.
This is a distance learning course. Assessment must meet the requirements of the identified assessment strategy/principles. All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a pass.
After successfully completing this course, you could go on to study:

- Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
- Level 2 Certificate in Dementia Care
- Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia
