Designed for those who wish to pursue a career in plastering and who are not currently working in the industry.
Units include:
- understanding how to carry out safe work practices
- introduction to building methods
- introduction to construction technology
- introduction into preparing background surfaces
- introduction to plaster materials.
During the course, you will complete a minimum of 30 hours of on-the-job experience within the industry. You will also have the opportunity to work on many live projects including various community projects and benefit from site visits, industry talks and demonstrations from experts.
A minimum of four GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English.
Attendance is two/three days a week, typically from 9am-4.30pm. A high level of attendance is essential to achieve the qualification.
You will complete a variety of practical assignments and in class assessments. You will complete two online exams. You will log your learning journey in a diploma portfolio folder. You must complete all elements to successfully achieve the qualification.
On completion of this course, you can progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Plastering or into an apprenticeship.
